Digital Accessibility Developer

Princeton University

John Jameson is the digital accessibility developer on Princeton University’s Web Development Services team. Coming from a digital publishing background, he found it odd that accessibility programs often focused on telling editors to put sticky-note reminders on their monitors, rather than rewriting the tools to make the accessible choices intuitive, self-reinforcing and self-correcting. Having occasionally been accused of trying to solve all problems with JavaScript…he set out to try to solve this with JavaScript. His Editoria11y accessibility checker for Drupal is now automatically encouraging link names other than “click here” on more than 1,600 sites.
