Tracy spends her working life leading the team at Pickle Jar Communications, an education-sector specialist digital communications and content consultancy. She founded the company in 2007 after spotting an opportunity for providing strategic level support to education organisations getting to grips with emerging forms of digital marketing and communications, as well as needing to make leaps forward with their existing approaches and web content. She has worked with over 160 education and education-related organisations in 25 countries, targeting audiences around the world.
Prior to founding Pickle Jar Communications, Tracy worked in-house in communications at the University of Warwick. Her latter role was as Head of Research-TV, an international broadcast PR and digital platform for communicating research news.
She is a former Chair of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Education and Skills Sector Group, and founder of the ContentEd conference and community (www.contentedlive.com). She delivers workshops, training and keynote talks at conferences around the world. She was the first European digital communications professional to receive the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Crystal Apple Teaching Award in 2014.
When she’s not on the road speaking at conferences or visiting schools and universities, Tracy lives in the North East of England with her dog, Scout. She enjoys walking, gardening, cooking, travelling and knitting (badly).
