Social Media is but a communication tool we use to do what we’ve been doing for centuries: tell stories. And who tells student stories better than students themselves?
This past summer, we auditioned 5 very different incoming students who got the chance to share their transitions to university through weekly blogs and social updates. Via our RU Student Life brand, these 5 students opened up, eased the transition for their peers and became pseudo celebrities in their own right.
In Higher Ed, it’s about more than the number of retweets or blog reads; it’s also about making an impact on the students we serve. As someone who’s been working in a digital capacity in Ryerson Student Affairs for 3 years, I’ll use the successful #RoadToRyerson as a case study to show you how to create an outstanding social media campaign that makes waves in your stats and in the lives of your students.
