Ana Herrera is the Director of Web Strategy & Digital Initiatives at NAIT, where she leads a talented team of web designers, web developers, data analysts, UX and content specialists in support of the institute’s main websites, putting user-centricity and design thinking at the core of what they do. She has developed NAIT’s current website strategy and ecosystem, successfully revamping all of NAIT’s institutional websites in just over 5 years.
With over 20 years of experience working in post-secondary education, and through her own business experience as co-founder of a boutique creative agency, she puts strategic solutions at the forefront of anything she does. Before joining NAIT, she spent 12 years at the University of Alberta in various faculties and academic roles, which gave her a broader view of the complex digital and communications needs of the institution, faculty, and students in multiple channels.
Ana has a Master’s degree in Visual Communication Design and a Masters of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Alberta. She was Past-President of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada – Alberta North Chapter, and was on the national executive board for the same association as Treasurer. A life-long learner at heart, she has certification as a scrum master, scrum product owner and has completed the UX specialist certification from Nielsen Norman Group.
