At Western University we engage our students and enable their ability to manage their own academic experiences.  We do this through Facebook class of groups that allow students a safe environment to ask questions, get help from Western and their peers as well as navigate the ups and downs of university life. We keep our groups limited to only registered students which helps to prevent overly involved parents and allows us to reach our student population directly.  My team and I began this method successfully in the Spring of 2014.  From this session we hope others will see how useful Facebook can be as a tool to connect with students allowing them to manage their own educational experiences.
