From Inbox to Impact: Launching Strategic Newsletters That Engage Students and Staff

Email overload is a reality at large institutions, for both students and staff. To cut through the noise and deliver information that matters, Western University created two targeted internal newsletters, What’s Up Western for students and Inside Western for staff. The results speak for themselves: both newsletters are achieving open rates above industry-standard.

In this session, we’ll share the approach behind both initiatives—including why we launched them, how we built sustainable workflows, and the lessons that made them successful. Attendees will walk away with practical frameworks and best practices they can adapt to their own institutions to improve engagement, reduce email fatigue, and create newsletters that make an impact.
