#PSEWeb was created in 2010 by a small group of Canadians attending the HighEdWeb (now Digital Collegium) conference in the U.S. Since then, it’s grown to an audience of hundreds from all over the country, the U.S., and Europe.

Sarah is an award-winning digital communications professional working in higher education. She leads digital communications and strategic planning for internal and external audiences at the University of Toronto. Outside of U of T, Sarah is a veteran on the #PSEWeb team and enjoys exploring the outdoors on foot and with a paddle.

Glenda Tompkins 2024

Partnerships Director

Glenda is a 20-year marketing and communications veteran currently specializing in photography/videography and social media management. She has garnered multiple awards for her innovative, strategic campaigns at College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her experience includes writing, editing, graphic design, event planning, and more. When she’s not reviewing social media engagement analytics, she enjoys spending quality time with her young family.

Simon started working in higher education in 2014. Holding an MA in Communication Studies from Université de Sherbrooke, he is a digital content specialist at McGill University. When he’s not working on a new website or a marketing campaign, he is trying to improve his golf game.

Sarah has spent the last decade working in Higher Ed Social Media, so it only makes sense that she’s now leading the #PSEWeb socials alongside her former mentee turned industry colleague Cadie DeKelver.

With decades of experience in digital, marketing, communications, and client relations, Heather Saxton is a passionate leader who successfully delivers digital strategies across multiple platforms. In her role as Director, Digital Engagement at the University of Manitoba, Heather oversees a digital team responsible for managing the user experience of the university’s key marketing and communications platforms, such as umanitoba.ca.

Production Partner

Joel is the Principal at Bravery Media, a US-based digital strategy and design agency focused on higher education. His CV includes running a music festival, selling out concerts via MySpace marketing, redesigning at least a dozen university websites, and baking loads of bread. He also holds a master’s in Media Studies from The New School in New York and hosts a handful of podcasts.
