The Site That Keeps on Growing: Managing Expansion, Multiple Audiences, and Sustainable Web Design

Higher ed websites are constantly evolving—new content, new audiences, and new priorities keep pushing the boundaries. How do you manage that growth while keeping the site user-friendly, accessible, and sustainable?

This session will explore strategies for scaling a website without losing control, using the University Registrar’s Office website as a case study. We’re in the process of expanding this website to include Student Accounts, Convocation, and Learning Space Management!

We’ll cover:

  • Collaborating across teams to align priorities, streamline decision-making, and avoid bottlenecks
  • Keeping content manageable by reducing redundancy and structuring information effectively
  • Improving user experience through clear navigation and audience-focused design
  • Maintaining long-term flexibility so the site can continue to grow without becoming unmanageable

Attendees will walk away with actionable insights on how to keep their websites adaptable and effective, no matter how much they grow.
