#PSEWEB

Published on March 9, 2017

We’ve been going through some changes. One exciting change is that we’ve incorporated and are becoming a not-for-profit! We’ve always operated with a mission to keep costs low and return profits to the community, but this makes it official – and we’re very proud of that.

Our organizing team has been undergoing some changes, too. A few of our teammates have new jobs which take them away from post-secondary education. It’s exciting news for them (and their careers) but we’ll miss them. We’ll be working on adding some new members to the team in the next couple of months. You’ll hear about opportunities to join the team through our homepage, mailing list and social media – so keep your eyes peeled.

A slimmed down team tackling the financial and legal pleasures of re-incorporation has led to a bittersweet decision: we are skipping a year, and planning the next #PSEWEB national conference for 2018.

Lucky for us, we’re a bunch of web-wired, social media hungry internet experts that are just as (or more) comfortable online as we are in person – and we know you have vibrant campus and regional communities that deserve a chance to shine.

Throw Your Own #PSEWEB

Pull together your campus webbies and social media heroes under the banner of #PSEWEB, save some travel money and strengthen your local networks with a #PSEWEB meetup. Read more / Apply now!

Strut Your Stuff, Online

Just because we aren’t getting together in person, doesn’t mean that you didn’t rock the interwebs this year. Fill in our usual Call for Speakers and pitch your project or topic. We’ll be running a series of long-form, media-rich case studies through the pseweb.ca website: Submit yours now!

Hopefully absence will make your hearts grow fonder for the national conference. But in the meantime, trust that we are busy rebuilding our core team and working on a long list of “if only we had time” ideas and dreams for the conference. If you’re interested in joining the team or providing feedback about #PSEWEB, please let Jared know!

Until we meet (or tweet) again, may the power of web be with you – and may #PSEWEB be ever in your <3
