Build your resume, share your learnings, put your work in the spotlight
Call for Speakers Closes on Wednesday, March 31 2010.
I started presenting at conferences as a vendor, so it was only natural for me to continue when I left the agency world and joined a campus web team. This conference is the first of its kind for Canadians, which means there is no precedent, and maybe some confusion over the benefits of speaking at this type of event.
Why be a founding speaker?
Why should you submit a presentation proposal? Why take the stage when you can take it easy in the audience?
- We will learn more from each other than from outside professional speakers
- You will be supporting the development of a community of peers in your field
- Add a little public speaking to your resume
- Share your war story and show off your final result
- And of course, save up to $100 off the cost of attending
I know for a fact that we have brilliant web staff on Canadian campuses. I’ve worked one on one with many of you during my years with Academica Group, and connected with many Canadian teams at US conferences. Others I have bumped into on the web, in e-communities and mailing lists and still more I have tracked down due to my curiosity when I see a great new initiative.
We may be North of the border, but we are also ahead of the game when it comes to web marketing. Maybe it’s because laptops generate heat in the winter, or maybe it is because we are marketing across such a large expanse of territory. Maybe it is the increasingly dark outlook of high school demographics? Whatever the cause, we are setting new standards and pushing ahead in social media, web design, online communities, email marketing and web team management.

Brock University is looking forward to hosting this conference in May. Please book your accommodation at the following address setup for your conference.
